Privacy Policy
Who we are
LaxCoachApp is a free website of practice drills for youth lacrosse coaches. It is operated by Focon Naples, and you can reach us about anything in this policy at help@napleslax.com. Focon Naples is the business responsible for this site and for the information described below.
Two other names appear around the site, and neither of them is the operator. The footer of every page carries a build credit naming the firm that built this site: that firm does not run LaxCoachApp, is not responsible for the information described in this policy, and is not who you should write to. The site is also served for now from a temporary web address ending in azurestaticapps.net, which belongs to our hosting provider rather than to us. For anything in this policy, write to the address above.
Our email address ends in napleslax.com, which is not the web address you are reading. An email address and a website address do not have to share a domain. That address belongs to Focon Naples, the operator named above.
About this policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you use LaxCoachApp. It is linked in the footer of every page on the site, including error pages, so it is available to you at any time.
The version and the date this policy took effect are shown at the top of this page. We describe the site as it works today. Where a feature is planned but not built yet, we say so plainly rather than describe something that does not exist.
No accounts, and nothing about your players
There is no sign-in on LaxCoachApp. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your team roster or anything at all about the children you coach, and there is nowhere on the site to enter it. We do not knowingly hold personal information about anyone under 13, and we do not want any.
Please do not send us information about a player. If you write to us, send only what you need to describe the problem.
What information is accessed, collected, stored and used
This section explains what information is accessed, collected, stored and used when you visit LaxCoachApp.
Web server records
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Like any web host, it records the requests it serves. Those records can include your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for and the browser you used. Microsoft keeps those records as our hosting provider and we use them only to keep the site running and to investigate faults or abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
Website analytics
LaxCoachApp runs no analytics today. The site sends no measurement of any kind to us or to anyone else. We plan to add a cookieless page-view count later. When we do, this policy will be updated first, the counter will set no cookies and store nothing on your device, your IP address will be used to work out an approximate country or region and then discarded rather than stored, and the counter will be switched off entirely on any page showing a video that YouTube marks as Made For Kids.
Anything you send us
If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can deal with it. Later versions of the site will add a way to report a problem with a drill. That report will describe the drill, not you.
Use of YouTube API Services
LaxCoachApp uses YouTube API Services. By using this site you are also agreeing to the Google Privacy Policy, which you can read here: Google Privacy Policy.
We use YouTube API Services only to check facts about videos we have chosen to link to: how long a video is, whether it may be embedded, whether it is still playable, and whether YouTube marks it as Made For Kids. Those checks are about videos, not about you. No information about you is sent to YouTube by those checks, and we do not sign in to YouTube on your behalf, because the site holds no account and no sign-in.
Where a video is marked as Made For Kids, we switch off measurement and the report-a-problem link on the page showing it. That rule applies now, before any measurement exists, so it cannot be forgotten later.
When you press play on an embedded video, that is a direct connection between your browser and the video provider. See the next section for what they may store on your device.
Cookies and storage on your device
This section covers cookies and similar technologies, including storage set by third parties.
What we store today
Today LaxCoachApp sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The pages you are reading now run no code in your browser at all. An automated check runs on every release, covers every page this site publishes including this one, and fails the release if any page sets a cookie or writes to browser storage.
What we will store later
Two features are planned, and this is what they will do when they arrive. We will update this policy before either of them goes live.
- The team you pick and the drills you mark as favorites will be kept in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They stay there until you clear them and they are never sent to us.
- A practice plan you are building will be kept in your browser's session storage only, which your browser clears when you close the tab.
What third parties store
Some drills now include a demo video embedded from YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, and a drill page does not load the player until you press the Watch button on that page: opening or reading a drill page sends nothing to YouTube. If we add a Vimeo video later we will ask Vimeo not to track, and we will update this policy before that happens. These settings reduce what the providers store, but they do not remove it: once you press play, YouTube can store cookies or other data on your device under its own rules, and we cannot see, control or delete it. We do not claim that embedded players are cookie-free.
To read what the providers do, see the Google Privacy Policy and the Vimeo Privacy Policy. Nothing is embedded on this page, so simply reading this policy sets nothing.
Where the drill write-ups come from
The drill write-ups on LaxCoachApp are our own editorial content. They are not taken from YouTube and they are not generated from video titles or descriptions. Every drill page carries a label saying so. Where a drill was informed by a coach's public website, that source is linked on the drill page.
Your choices
- You can use the whole site without signing in, because there is nothing to sign in to.
- You can clear anything the site or an embedded player has stored using your browser's settings for this website.
- You can choose not to press play on an embedded video, and nothing will be sent to the video provider.
- You can block cookies and storage in your browser. The drill pages will still work.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we change the version number and the date at the top of the page. We will update this policy before a new feature that affects it goes live, not afterwards.
